Magnolia virginiana Sweetbay

Sweetbay is a graceful, multi-stemmed small tree with elliptic evergreen to nearly evergreen foliage with a glaucous underside. In mid-May starts creamy white three inch diameter fragrant flowers that often keep on till fall. Can thrive in wet soils. 'Glauca' variant has bluish undersides.
