Carex eburnea Bristleleaf Sedge

Bristle leaf sedge is a delicate looking clump forming ground cover with rich green foliage. Eburnea is drought and heat tolerant and can be used a lawn substitute. Native to limestone soils.

Carex, otherwise known as sedge, is a large genus of perennial grass like plants that find a home in almost every exposure and soil type. Native and horticultural selections are invaluable garden plants and deserve wider use in masses, in drifts, and as a ground cover. Carex is also a fine choice in pots and urns. Use as you would Liriope, Ajuga, or ivy. Kelly Nursery offers sedges for a wide variety of cultural conditions and uses. Cutback Carex in spring before new growth starts.
