Chasmanthium (Uniola) latifolia Northern Sea Oats
In summer river oats or northern sea oats produces an abundance of gently arching green spikelets borne on pedicils. Sea oats are best sited in shade or part shade in average to moist soils. In fall to winter the seed heads turn to buff brown which rattles even in a soft breeze.
