Amsonia hubrichtii Arkansas Bluestar
Very popular plant. Indestructible, and attractive when blooming, when not, and in fall. Named for the hermit botanist Leslie Hubricht. Bluestar offers year around interest with thread like leaves, erect clump forming habit, and blue flowers in spring. The glowing golden fall color alone makes the plant worth growing. The foliage persists well into fall and after a few years the clumps multi-ply into a sizable, intriguing, and worthy perennial.
